I’ll start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I am a dad, artist, filmmaker, writer, and tinkerer. If pressed, I would say these interests are all fueled by an intense curiousity about people and the world they perceive, imagine, and attempt to create.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I love stories and storytelling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I grew up on a diet of science fiction and magical realism. I read authors like William Gibson, Walter Williams, George Alec Effinger, Neal Stephenson, Italo Calvino, and Umberto Eco. Those last two are particular favorites: they’re both Italian, and they think way outside the box.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
My work combines a lot of seemingly disperate skills\/crafts in order to create experiences that help to make complex stories and ideas a little more approachable. A lot of this work is done under the umbrella of my creative company, Goodfocus<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I co-founded Goodfocus in 2008 specifically to help organizations tell their unique stories in engaging, often unexpected ways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I like to tinker. Sometimes that tinkering shows up in my professional work, sometimes in my art, and sometimes it just washes away like tears in rain<\/a>. Much of my tinkering involves 1980s computer technology (ie: Commodore 64, ZX Spectrum, etc) and unique spatial interactivity between humans and technology. My photonic healing machine<\/a> is an example.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I also work for the University of New England<\/a>‘s College of Arts and Sciences as their Production Studio and Digital Arts Equipment Coordinator. It combines two of my favorite things: working with students doing creative stuff; and tinkering with gadgets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
