When I turned 15 in 1984, my father gave me this camera, and with it, a desire to make pictures. This is the camera I still use nearly every day, though I&#8217;ve added a few friends to the 35mm camera lineup over the last few decades.<\/p>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-latest-posts__list has-dates wp-block-latest-posts\"><li><a class=\"wp-block-latest-posts__post-title\" href=\"https:\/\/danielgstephens.com\/?p=49\">Himeji Train Station<\/a><time datetime=\"2025-09-20T10:25:46-04:00\" class=\"wp-block-latest-posts__post-date\">September 20, 2025<\/time><div class=\"wp-block-latest-posts__post-excerpt\">This was a perfect photographic moment. For me, this image feels like what Henri Cartier-Bresson called capturing the &#8220;decisive moment.&#8221; The train is sliding into the station with a hint of motion blur as testament to its speed.
